Amal the Unicorn is a “unicorn” and a background character from No Straight Roads.

Appearance

Amal is a tall, slim man with a body shape similar to the other characters of No Straight Roads. When standing, his skin is revealed to be yellow. Under the costume's hood, green eyes and pink highlights around the head are visible, along with a noticeable stubble around his chin.

He is mostly seen using a light blue unicorn costume with purple hues, a white belly, white eyes with black pupils, a white horn with purple parallel stripes above the nose and a purple mane, tail and hooves. A green button-up shirt and dark grey tie become visible once he unzips his hood for a break.

Personality

Amal displays himself as a somewhat shy individual, often slouched down and almost intimidated in his talking art. However, he does not stop himself from telling Mayday to back off once she starts staring at him too long.

He appears to perform his work to make others enjoy for a moment that unicorns are real, but does not hesitate from telling others that they aren't, apologizing for "ruining the dream." Only once Yinu is removed from being the charter of his district does he take a break from his performance and never puts it back on, implying that he may perhaps only do this for the entertainment of others.

Relationships

Bunk Bed Junction 

Amal, unlike many other NPCs, does not seem to exactly care about the happenings of Bunkbed Junction through the city. Mayday found a fascination in his behavior and wanted him to be real, soon becoming disappointed that he is not, in fact, a real cute "wittle" unicorn.

• A preview of Amal the Unicorn's character design and 3D model is shown in Sora's YouTube video about his voice acting role for No Straight Roads.
• He is the second character who first appeared in promotions or sneak peeks to make an introduction in #StarsofVinylCity. He is succeeded after Kliff, who first appeared in the French dub trailer.
  • In additional words, Amal appears last after Kayane and Kliff.
  • Amal is also the fifth character to be introduced in #StarsofVinylCity.
• Amal is the second character to have his voice actor to work in more than one dub. For this information, Maxime "Sora" Cohen is native in French and fluent in English and Japanese.
• Amal's European-Spanish voice actor is also the voice of 1010 and Neon J. in the French dub of the game.
