DK West Encounter 1 is the battle theme of the first and only required fight against DK West, while the other encounters are optional, these being DK West Encounter 2 and DK West Encounter 3. The song uses elements from Rap and Dikir Barat.

All DK West Encounters are the only ones to not have any variation, just having a French version of the three of them. The DK West Encounters are also the only songs where two characters sing, in the first and second encounters being DK West and Zuke, both of them attacking each other with words in turns, just like a real rap battle.

Trivia

• All Encounters are the only battles where the only thing that is scored for the final results is the damage received, since the duration of the battle is the same as the song used in it and there are no parrys or combos in the gameplay.
• The battle follows the music, that's why there are several parts where the lyrics coincide with something shown in scene.
  • Almost all red enemies pass through the damage zone and light up just when a syllable is said in the lyrics.
  • The clapping part always occurs in the chorus sung by the crowd, and the clapping happens right at the end of each rhyme.
  • When Zuke sings "Has now but drop drop drop in half", In each "drop" said, a line of enemies appears in the middle of the track, but when saying "half", another line appears now broken in the middle.
  • The battle zone spells the letters E, V and E when DK West mentions Nadia, making a reference to Eve.
    • Nadia is the real name of Eve, and DK West refers to her as such from when they were in college, revealing in the song that he had in the past or even still does have a crush on her.
  • When Zuke sings "From a scale of 1 to 10", a 1 and 10 appear in the battle.
• The name DK West is a reference to the Malaysian musical style Dikir Barat. DK sounding like Dikir and West being the direct English translation of Barat in Malay, the very same language in which DK West speaks.
  • The game No Straight Roads is also made by a Malaysian independent studio, Metronomik.
• Although DK West always speaks in Malay even in the English version of the game, in his songs he sings mainly in English.
• All DK West encounters were recorded in the same day.
